Vertical Angles

Today students explored the relationship between the angles formed when two lines intersect. Students made their own pairs of vertical (opposites) angles with equal measures. We even had one lady bug!

Transformation Projects

Designing their names in block letters on a coordinate grid, students transformed their design doing a reflection in the x-axis, 90 degree counter-clockwise rotation, translation (x,y) -->(x-3,y-2), and a dilation with scale factor of 2. Here are the projects completed by Jason, Kaitlynn Hil., Felicia, Quin, Alex, and Levi G. I will add more soon! Keep checking back!

Transformations Project

Wow! I have seen some neat projects being created in our classroom. Very Creative:)

Here is a picture of Jon's project. His was the first turned in! It was great to see you working, Jon! It looks great!

All projects are due tomorrow. I can't wait to see the finished products!!!

Transformations

Reflections (flips), translations (slides), rotations (turns), and dilations (reductions and enlargements) are all examples of transformation (change).
Here are some examples of student work from our first transformation quiz. Thank you Shania V, Nick S, and Donovan W for sharing your great work with us!
Notice that each of them put arrows, numbered, and labeled the x-axis and y-axis! They also labeled each figure correctly using prime marks when necessary on the images after the transformations! Great work:)
